Should all run to plan the closure will come into place on 4th September 2009.
The closure will allow the felling of trees to take place safely. It is not anticipated that the full 6 months duration of the order will be required. The footpath will be opened as soon as the relevant works affecting the footpath are completed. From that time onwards the extraction track, located to the west side of the plantation, will be managed by the contractor as part of their safe working procedures.
Signs with maps will be posted by staff at the points of closure at each end of the forestry plantation.
