Dangerous or loose Dogs
The Dales Way Association has, in the past received complaints from walkers about dangerous or loose dogs on the Dales Way footpath. The writers sometimes do not indicate the precise location of the incident, so it is difficult, if not impossible, for us to follow this up. In other cases, for example, Holme Park Farm, both Capita and the police were involved, and to the best of our knowledge, this problem has now been resolved.
If you are unfortunate and get involved with unruly or aggressive loose dogs, it is in everyone's interest that you report this to the police, in order that it can be resolved, and prevent something more serious happening in the future. In Cumbria the number is 0845 330 0247 The operator will put you in touch with the appropriate department.
The Dales Way Association would appreciate being kept informed.
